HAPPY NEW YEAR
We wish you all our esteemed supporters and welwishers a happy new year 2009.
We also thank you all for the support you gave us last year. It was a successfull year on our side because it was hectic to us with travels.
We had a total of 66 outings at various functions like parties and churches around Uganda, one evangelical meeting (3 weeks) at Sanga in Kiruhura district, 2 shows in Mbarara and one at Ishaka town in Uganda and among other things we bought a sound system.
We also released 3 audio albums and one video album. We want to thank the Lord for using us in his music and drama ministry.
With your continued support, we shall serve you more in 2009 and we pledge to have more fire this year than last year.

KANKUHIMBISE ALBUM RELEASED
Our 8th audio album titled "KANKUHIMBISE" is now on the market after it was launched on September 7, 2008 at Ishaka town at Homeland Hotel.
The First show run from 2pm to 6pm and the Second run from 7pm to 10pm.
Guests were treated to nice songs and drama different package for each show. Other singers at the show included our former singer and friend Mrs Susan Mukabya of Masaka and Seek God First.
This album has songs: Kankuhimbise Mukama, Nitaenda, There is A Land, Amatsiko Gangye, Mukundane, Eka Eyo Mugisha, Hariho Orurembo and Rukundo Omumaka. We consinder this to be one of our best audio albums in our history of the 13 years gospel music ministry.

Fishers of men
From August 17, 2008 to September 6, 2008, AKAYO SINGERS was part of the facilitators at an evangelistic meeting at Sanga, 33 kms on Mbarara-Masaka road in Kiruhura district, Uganda.
The program was organised by our mother church, the Seventh day Adventist church of Sanga, Biharwe and Mbarara.
Our main ministry calling is preaching the gospel through music and drama, and we plegded to work for our Lord Jesus by letting our nets (work) down whenever we are called to work for him. Mathew 24:14.
May God bless everyone who took part in organising this public evangelism and the public at Sanga who are attended the meetings. 20 souls accepted Jesus as their personal saviour.

NEW NEW DVD
Ebenezer T. Bifubyeka May 21st Akayo singers launch 1st gospel album…
The New Vision
ANKOLE-KIGEZI Adventist Youth Organisation (Akayo), the only gospel music group in western Uganda , has launched its maiden video album. This is the first gospel album in western Uganda .
The 19-member Akayo singers, comprised of nine males and 10 females, launched the 10-track DVD (digital versatile disc) album on May 18 at Silver Theatre, Mbarara town. Each song was shown on a large screen aside, as Akayo singers presented it live on stage.
The launch of the album that is named after its lead song, Tusingwiire, was spiced up by the play entitled, Tusingwiire. The play showcased a best-man who almost blocked the wedding of his close friend by gossiping – with an intention of filching the bride to be!
The group’s Patron, Felix B. Basiime said they often travel countrywide, singing and presenting their songs and plays - in different local languages besides English. Both the songs and plays: Tusingwiire (literary meaning, I have triumphed) and Taryanguzi (‘God doesn’t take bribes’), emphasise repentance.
Basiime, who is also the Akayo’s publicity secretary, said that whoever is caught copying Tusingwiire - will be liable to a fine not less than sh3m.
The guest of honour, Mrs. Sylvia Namyalo Mugalu, who launched the album, said; members of the 10-year-old Akayo music group have sweet voices. She said this is why Akayo’s CDs and DVDs are selling very well. Akayo’s DVDs cost sh10,000 each.
“This is a talent; it’s not gambling. I got to know you through your audio CD I heard at a friend’s place in Kampala where I reside. Akayo’s songs bring one closer to God,” said Mrs. Mugalu, the proprietor of Mega Electronics and City light arcade in Mbarara.
Commenting on Taryanguzi after watching it at Mbarara catholic social centre recently, the woman MP for Mbarara district, Emma Boona said, “Stop torturing children for they get psychologically tortured, which results into mental problems!”
She added that later in life, such step-mothers who torture their step children go to seek financial assistance from the same children they mistreated!
The 10 tracks on Tusingwiire album, which were selected from their eight audio CDs, include; Tusingwiire, There is a land, Mwokozi wangu, Mumubambe, Namani, Niwe ogwo, Damasiko, Elimereki, Nitaenda and There’s a home.
